  • 500 g low-fat curd cheese
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 2 packets of baking powder
  • 2 eggs, size M
  • 50 g fried onions
  • 1 large green bell pepper(s)
  • 6 tomatoes, dried in oil
  • 100 g Gouda, grated
  • 125 g diced ham
  • n. B. herbs, e.g. Italian frozen herbs

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 1 hour 20 minutes

very simple, super delicious

Wash the peppers and remove their cores. Cut the peppers and sun-dried tomatoes into small pieces. Mix the flour with the baking powder and salt. Don’t add too much salt, as the ham cubes are already very salty. Add the quark, beaten eggs, herbs, fried onions, cheese, tomatoes, peppers, and ham cubes. Knead everything together well. Shape the mixture into a loaf and place it in a 28 x 20 cm pan. Bake the bread at 170 degrees Celsius for about 60 minutes. Wait a moment and then remove it from the pan. If it starts to get too brown, simply cover it with aluminum foil; I’ve never had to do that, though. The bread will look a little dark in the oven, but it won’t turn black. You can enjoy it immediately, warm or cold. It tastes even better the second day, as it will have marinated well.
