Pizza Iola – "Pizza" made from egg

Spread the love

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 4 eggs
  • ½ tube(s) tomato paste
  • 1 clove(s) garlic
  • 4 slices of processed cheese
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • 3 pinches of oregano
  • 1 pinch(s) basil
  • salt and pepper
  • 1 dash of cream
  • ½ small jar of water

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 25 minutes

An old family dish – super tasty, light, and inexpensive. And it’s quick

Add the oil to the pan, cut the garlic clove into 3 pieces, and add it to the oil. Heat both together. Then remove the garlic. Add about half a tube of tomato paste to the pan and sauté briefly in the oil. Add the water and mix well to create a tomato sauce. Add the dash of cream, a little oregano, basil, salt, and pepper. Crack the eggs and add them one at a time, like fried eggs, and top with the cheese slices (1 slice per egg). Add a few more pinches of oregano, a small pinch of basil, salt, and pepper, then cover the pan and simmer over medium heat. The “pizza” is ready when the egg is cooked and the cheese is nicely melted. Serve with fresh baguette. Alternatively, you can make more sauce and cook pasta; the sauce tastes great with pasta, and the egg on top makes a pretty decoration and perfectly complements the flavor. Tip: It won’t work without oregano – it tastes like cold feet.
