Pizza rolls from the Dutch oven for a child's birthday party

Spread the love

Ingredients for 6 servings:

  • 1 package of pizza dough with sauce (from the refrigerated section)
  • 200 g grated cheese (e.g. Gouda)
  • 100 g salami (turkey salami)
  • 2 tsp oregano, dried
  • 1 tsp thyme

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 40 minutes

Super quick to make and just right for kids at a party.

Glow 24 coal eggs in the chimney starter. Spread out the pizza dough, mix the sauce with the spices and spread it on the dough. Leave about 2 cm free at the edges so that the dough can stick together later; sauce will prevent it from sticking. Top with salami or another sausage and sprinkle with 2/3 of the cheese. Roll up the pizza dough and cut the roll into strips about 2.5 cm wide. Place a sheet of baking paper in the Dutch oven and place all the pizza rolls on it. Sprinkle the remaining cheese on top. Close the lid and distribute the coals. In my case, with a 12-inch Dutch oven, 9 coals go on the bottom and 15 coals on the lid. The rolls are ready after about 30 minutes. The kids love it! Tip: You can of course also bake it in the normal oven. The kids are just happier when something comes out of the Dutch oven.
