Ingredients for 4 servings:
- 4 tbsp oil
- 400 g flour
- 30 g yeast
- ½ tsp sugar
- 225 ml water, lukewarm
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ kg tomatoes
- ½ tsp salt
- 1 pinch(s) of pepper
- 200 g ham
- 100 g cheese
- 50 g Parmesan, grated
- 4 tbsp oil
Instructions
Working time approx. 15 minutes; Rest time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 1 hour 15 minutes
Sift the flour into a bowl. Combine the yeast, sugar, and water in a small bowl, add to the flour, and mix with the flour. Add the salt and oil and beat everything until you have a smooth, supple dough. Sprinkle the dough with a little flour and let it rise, covered, for 30 minutes. For the topping, peel and slice the tomatoes. Cut the ham into small pieces. Grate the cheese and mix it with the grated Parmesan cheese. Dust the baking sheet with flour. Preheat the oven to 220°C (425°F). Knead the risen dough again, cut into 4 pieces, and roll each piece out on a floured surface into a 22cm diameter circle. Place the circles on a floured baking sheet. Or roll out the dough directly on the baking sheet; it should be about 3mm thick. Place the tomato slices on the pizza base, season with salt and pepper. Place the ham on top of the tomatoes. Sprinkle the grated cheese over the pizzas and drizzle with oil. Bake the pizzas on the lowest rack for 15-20 minutes. Serve warm. TIP: The pizza base will be especially crispy if you place the baking tray directly on the floor of the oven. The dough will be softer if baked on a rack.
