Plum compote with ginger

Ingredients for 6 servings:

  • 1 kg plum(s)
  • 100 g brown cane sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon powder
  • 1 pinch of clove powder
  • 1 tbsp, chopped ginger root, freshly grated

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Rest time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 1 hour 30 minutes

Wash and pit the plums, mix with sugar, cinnamon, and clove powder, let them draw juice for about 1 hour, bring to a boil, and simmer over medium heat for about 10 minutes until soft. Peel the ginger, finely grate it, and mix it into the hot plums. Ladle the hot compote into clean jars with twist-off lids.
