Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 2 eggs
  • 300 ml milk
  • 2 packets of vanilla sugar
  • 4 slices of toast or dry white bread
  • 100 g breadcrumbs
  • 1 tbsp clarified butter
  • Salt
  • Cinnamon

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

Whisk the eggs with the milk, a pinch of salt, a pinch of cinnamon, and the vanilla sugar, then pour over the toast. You can also dip the toast into the egg mixture. The bread slices should be well soaked in the mixture. Sprinkle breadcrumbs on a plate and coat both sides of the dripping-wet bread in them. Heat some clarified butter in a pan and fry the slices until golden brown on both sides. You can eat the French toast either plain or with a little compote. You can also spread jam or Nutella on top.
