sweet main course

Cook the tagliatelle in lightly salted water until al dente. Then place in a sieve and drain well. Meanwhile, cream together the butter, powdered sugar, and vanilla sugar until creamy. Gradually stir in the egg yolks, one at a time. Then add the quark and ground poppy seeds and stir in. Mix in the drained tagliatelle. Beat the egg whites until stiff and then carefully fold in. Pour this mixture into a greased casserole dish. Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (top/bottom heat) for approximately 35–40 minutes. Sprinkle with powdered sugar to serve. We love to serve this with applesauce or apple compote.
