Poppy seed puff pastry sticks

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 1 pack of poppy seed cake
  • 2 packs of puff pastry, rolled up and ready to bake
  • 1 egg yolk
  • some milk

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 35 minutes

quick, juicy and delicious

Unroll the puff pastry and place it on a baking sheet. Spread poppy seed mixture on top. Unroll the second roll and place it on top of the poppy seeds. Using a sharp knife, cut into strips about the thickness of your thumb. Twist the strips with your hands. With your left hand, twist them to the right, and with your right hand, twist the ends to the left at the same time. This creates a beautiful spiral shape. The filling will be visible. Whisk the egg yolk with the milk and brush the sticks with it. Bake at 200°C (top/bottom heat) for about 15-20 minutes, depending on the desired degree of browning. Makes about 2-3 baking sheets. Note: These sticks can also be made with a nut filling.
