Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 500 g pork rind
  • 1 liter of frying oil
  • 1 tsp, leveled salt

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Rest period approx. 1 day; Cooking/baking time approx. 2 hours 30 minutes; Total time approx. 1 day 3 hours

Make your own pork crackling chips

Rinse the pork rind and simmer it in a pot of boiling water for 20 minutes. Cut the rind into approximately 2 x 1 cm rectangles. Spread it on a baking sheet and bake in the oven at 100°C (top/bottom heat) for 2 hours. After baking, I let it stand overnight in a warm place, covered with kitchen paper. Heat the oil in a deep fryer or saucepan to 180-200°C and fry the rind pieces until golden brown. Season to taste with salt, paprika, or chili.
