Potato and Chilli Con Carne

The perfect potato and chilli con carne recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 1000 g Minced meat
  • 3 piece Red onions
  • 2 piece Garlic cloves
  • 5 piece Vine tomatoes
  • 4,5 tablespoon Tomato paste
  • 2,5 tablespoon Sweet paprika powder
  • 1,5 tablespoon Pepper
  • 1,5 teaspoon Chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1000 Milliliters Water
  • 2,5 tablespoon Beef broth
  • 750 g Potatoes
  • 1 Jar large (850gr) Kidney beans
  • 1 teaspoon Butter
  1. We can also have something simple, not so elaborate food, even when guests come 🙂 Since people often eat more in company, it is enough for about 6 people.
  2. Start by rinsing the tomatoes, removing the stems and cutting them into small pieces.
  3. Now peel off the onions and garlic and chop them into small pieces.
  4. In a sufficiently large saucepan, drain the butter and fry the onion and garlic chopped up in it.
  5. Now add the minced meat and fry it vigorously and crumbly.
  6. Add the tomato paste, stir and fry briefly.
  7. Now add the tomato pieces and fill up with 1 liter of water.
  8. Scatter the beef stock powder, salt, paprika, pepper and chilli over the top and mix well. When everything is boiling, reduce the flame and simmer gently for 35 minutes.
  9. In the meantime, put the kidney beans in a sieve and rinse thoroughly with clean water. Then add to the pot.
  10. Peel the potatoes, rinse and cut into small cubes.
  11. After 15 minutes of cooking, season the potato-chili-con-carne to taste. Note: if you like it spicy, you may have to season it.
  12. After seasoning, add the potato cubes and simmer for the last 20 minutes. I hope you enjoy cooking and enjoy your meal
