Recipes with potato dough: deliciously filled potato cakes

  1. Get the following ingredients (makes about 8 cakes): 500g potatoes, 35g flour, 1 large carrot, 40g grated cheese, chopped spring onions and parsley to taste, 3/4 tsp salt, 1/4 tsp pepper, a pinch of nutmeg, some breadcrumbs to turn and some rapeseed oil for frying
  2. Boil the potatoes with the skin and carrot until done. Then pour off the cooking water and let the contents evaporate for about five minutes. Now you can peel the potatoes and mash them together with the carrots to make a puree. Let this cool down completely.
  3. Now mix the sticky potato and carrot mixture with the spices and herbs as well as the flour and the cheese in a large bowl. Form about 8 balls from the mass, which you then roll in breadcrumbs and flatten a little.
  4. In a large skillet, heat about 2 tablespoons of canola oil and fry the potato cakes for 3-5 minutes per side until you have reached the desired crispiness. Serve the cakes with a dip of your choice – they taste particularly delicious with homemade sour cream. Enjoy your meal!

Recipe for pizza with a potato dough base

This recipe gives the classic pizza a special kick. The topping can also be freely selected here and adapted to your taste. The recipe is also suitable for people with gluten intolerance, as the dough is gluten-free.

  1. Get the following ingredients (for 2 people): 6 waxy potatoes, 2 eggs, 4 cloves of garlic, 1/2 bunch of spring onions, and some buckwheat flour.
  2. For the topping: Some tomato sauce, 1 yellow and 1 red pepper, 1 tomato, 15 olives, some grated cheese, and oregano
  3. First peel the potatoes, garlic, and onions. Then grate everything very finely. Salt the vegetables well before adding the two eggs. Mix the mass with some buckwheat flour to form a thick dough.
  4. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and spread the batter evenly on it. Bake the base at 200 degrees for 20 minutes.
  5. In the meantime, you can cut the vegetables for the topping into bite-sized pieces. When the base is ready, spread the tomato sauce, vegetables, olives, and grated cheese on top. Bake the pizza for another 10 minutes at 180 degrees. Before serving, garnish the pizza with some oregano or other herbs of your choice.

Recipe for a sweet potato cake

This recipe is for the sweet tooth among you. The cake batter is easy to prepare and tastes great dusted with a little icing sugar or with a delicious chocolate glaze.

  1. For a springform pan, you need 400g warm mashed potatoes, 200g sugar, 200g ground hazelnuts, 100g margarine, 5 eggs, 1 packet of baking powder, and some bitter almond flavoring. For the glaze: either powdered sugar or 150g chocolate glaze
  2. In a large bowl, mix all the ingredients except the potatoes. Then stir them into the batter. Grease a springform pan with some margarine and pour the cake batter into it.
  3. Bake the cake at 175 degrees on top and bottom heat for about an hour and do the chopstick test before you take the cake out.
  4. Let the cake cool completely before dusting it with icing sugar or spreading the chocolate icing on top.
