The ingredients for waffles with buttermilk

The required ingredients are mostly the same as for normal waffles.

  • For the dough, you need 350 g of flour and 150 g of sugar.
  • You will also need three eggs and 150g of melted butter.
  • Add 100 g of starch and one and a half teaspoons of baking powder.
  • You will also need 1/2 tsp baking soda, a pinch of salt, and 1/2 tsp vanilla extract.
  • Of course, buttermilk should not be missing from our recipe. You need 750 ml of it.

Preparing the batter and waffles is easy.

  1. First, mix all the dry ingredients. This includes flour, starch, baking soda, baking powder, sugar, and salt.
  2. Now add the eggs, melted butter, vanilla extract, and buttermilk.
  3. Mix all ingredients into a smooth batter. This should not be too thin. So gradually add the buttermilk. You can stir in a little more flour if you like.
  4. Let the batter rest for about 10 minutes before baking the waffles in the greased waffle iron.
