Potato gratin

Spread the love

Ingredients for 8 servings:

  • 1 ½ kg potatoes
  • 600 ml cream
  • 300 ml milk
  • 2 onions
  • 2 bunch of spring onions
  • nutmeg
  • 1 bag of cheese, grated
  • 3 garlic cloves
  • 1 bunch of parsley

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 50 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 20 minutes

Sauté the finely chopped garlic and onions in a large pot for 3-4 minutes until translucent. Add the cream and milk. Season with salt, pepper, and grated nutmeg. Add the potato slices to the pot and cook for 20-30 minutes, until the potatoes are tender. Stir well to prevent the milk from burning. Just before the potatoes are tender, slice the spring onions into small rings and add a small handful of grated cheese and chopped parsley. Once the potatoes are tender, transfer everything to a baking dish and sprinkle with cheese (not too much). Bake in the oven at 180°C for about 20 minutes.
