Potato twister

Spread the love

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 4 potatoes
  • 50 g butter
  • 1 garlic clove(s)
  • 1 tbsp herbs, chopped, e.g. rosemary and oregano
  • salt and pepper
  • wooden skewers

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 40 minutes

Wash the potatoes and peel them if necessary. Then thread them lengthwise onto a wooden skewer, one at a time. This requires strength and, not least, a bit of dexterity. Plan on using a few more skewers than potatoes the first time, as they break easily. Now cut the potatoes into spirals. A paring knife is useful for this. First, cut into the potato at a slight angle until the tip of the knife meets the wooden skewer. Now continue to hold the knife at a slight angle and twist the potato until you have completely cut it into a spiral. Carefully pull it apart on the skewer. Now make a glaze from the melted butter, garlic, herbs, salt, and pepper. Brush the twisters with this. Then bake them in a preheated oven at 190°C (fan oven) for around 20 minutes. Sour cream dips or tomato ketchup go well with them.
