How to cook bulgur in the rice cooker
Bulgur is pre-cooked, sliced wheat. Especially in Turkey and in the front part of Asia it is one of the main foods. A rice cooker is great for cooking bulgur.
- For bulgur as a side dish, you need 50 g of bulgur per person, 100 ml of water or vegetable broth, a pinch of salt, and 1 teaspoon of olive oil.
- Put all the ingredients in the rice cooker and cook for 30 minutes. If your device has a special rice pudding function, you can use this program. But the standard program is also suitable.
- At the end of the cooking time, stir and fluff the bulgur.
One pot recipe with bulgur from the rice cooker
Bulgur from the rice cooker is ideal as a side dish. But you can also conjure up a complete dish from it. We show you a simple no-wash dish. The amount given is enough for two servings.
- You need 150 g bulgur, 200 ml vegetable broth, 1 tablespoon olive oil, 2 tomatoes, 1 pepper, 1 small zucchini, 1 chili pepper, and salt and pepper to taste. You can of course use other types of vegetables if you wish.
- The vegetables are washed and cut into small cubes. Then put all the ingredients together in the rice cooker and let the dish cook for 30 minutes.
- After the end of the cooking time, stir the bulgur and the vegetables thoroughly and can then serve immediately.
