Preparing quinoa in the rice cooker made easy
If you have a rice cooker, you should definitely cook quinoa in it. This is not only easier, but the grain also develops a particularly creamy consistency in this way. The following steps will help you prepare:
- You need: rice cooker, measuring cup, fine-mesh sieve, and 60g quinoa and 120ml water per person
- Instead of water, you can use vegetable or chicken broth if the quinoa is needed for a specific dish.
- Place the quinoa in the fine mesh strainer and wash the grains until the water runs clear. This will wash the saponins out of the peel.
- Now fill the quinoa with water or broth in the rice cooker and close it. Let cook for 15 minutes. If you want the quinoa to be softer, leave it in the rice cooker a little longer.
- After cooking, open the lid and lightly fluff the quinoa with a spoon. Let it steep for 5 more minutes before serving. Preparing quinoa in the rice cooker is that easy.
