Puff pastry braid

Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 1 package of puff pastry from the refrigerated section, alternatively homemade
  • 1 banana(s)
  • 1 pack of Toblerone, 200 g
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 4 tbsp, heaped powdered sugar

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

with Toblerone and banana

Roll out the puff pastry with the paper and place the Toblerone in the middle lengthwise. On both sides, always starting at the Toblerone, use a pastry wheel or sharp knife to cut diagonally downwards, approximately two centimeter-wide strips into the dough. Make sure to cut the same number of strips on both sides. Peel the banana and cut into 14 slices. Fill the spaces between the Toblerone with the banana slices, pressing the slices in slightly. Now place the pastry strips alternately – one strip from the left and then one from the right – over the Toblerone topped with banana slices. Carefully press the pastry strips into place. Cut the wider pastry strips at the top and bottom of the pastry sheet into a trapezoidal shape and place them on top as well, pressing them down. Place the puff pastry braid on a baking tray. The paper can now be removed – but it is not necessary. Whisk the egg yolk and brush the entire braid with it. Bake the puff pastry plait at 200°C (fan oven 180°C) for 15 minutes. Mix the icing sugar with 2-3 tablespoons of water to a glaze and spread it over the puff pastry plait.
