Ingredients for 1 servings:
- 2 slices of puff pastry (26 cm)
- 2 tbsp tomato paste
- 4 slices of cooked ham
- 100 g cheese (Emmental), grated
- some oregano
- 1 egg yolk
Instructions
Working time approx. 25 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 55 minutes
Place 1 sheet of puff pastry on baking paper. Spread with tomato paste, leaving a 1 cm border. Cover with the cooked ham. Sprinkle with a little oregano and half of the cheese. Place the second sheet of puff pastry on top. Press the edges down with the tines of a fork. Place a glass or similar object in the center of the pastry. Cut the pastry into 16 pie slices, starting from the rim of the glass and working outward. Remove the glass (it’s just a placeholder). Now rotate the pie slices clockwise. Rotate the first slice completely to the right, then the next completely to the left. Press the two slices together at the ends. Now rotate the next two slices… continue rotating until everything is rotated. Brush everything with egg yolk and sprinkle with the remaining cheese. Bake in an oven preheated to 180°C for about 30 minutes. Other ingredients can be used for the filling; it’s a matter of taste. The sky’s the limit. However, you should make sure that the ingredients are as dry as possible so that it doesn’t leak.
