Puff pastry rolls à la Tuscany

Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 1 pack of puff pastry (refrigerated section)
  • 150 g cheese (Emmental), grated
  • 100 g pesto verde
  • 50 g cheese (Pecorino), grated

Instructions

Working time approx. 25 minutes; Total time approx. 25 minutes

Roll out the thawed puff pastry on a work surface (you can certainly make it yourself, but it’s quicker to use ready-made dough from the supermarket, which usually comes with baking paper). Spread the pesto over the dough. Sprinkle most of the grated Emmental cheese and the Pecorino on top. Roll the dough into a log and cut into slices about 1 cm thick. Place these slices on a baking sheet lined with baking paper. Spread the rest of the grated Emmental cheese on top. Bake in a preheated oven at 200°C for about 20 minutes (until the rolls are golden brown and the cheese has melted). I like to serve the rolls with a glass of sparkling wine as an aperitif or snack while guests wait for the actual meal. They can be served cold or warm from the oven.
