Puff pastry – vegetable – strudel

Spread the love

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 package of puff pastry, frozen, 450 g
  • 1 kg mixed vegetables, fresh or frozen
  • 100 g diced ham
  • 1 pack of Hollandaise sauce, also light
  • 100 g cheese, grated
  • 1 egg(s)

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

Cook the vegetable mixture, but do not overcook it. Preheat the oven to approximately 200°C. Thaw the puff pastry sheets side by side, then roll them out into a large rectangle. Place them on a baking sheet lined with baking paper. In a bowl, mix the vegetables, diced ham, sauce, and cheese together and spread them on the puff pastry, leaving a large border. Separate the egg. Brush the edges of the puff pastry with the egg white. Roll it up into a strudel. Brush the strudel with the egg yolk. Bake for approximately 30 minutes. Tip: This strudel tastes delicious both hot and cold. It can easily be heated in the microwave or oven. Variations: During asparagus season, precooked asparagus and ham variations are a dream. Omit the cheese or sauce if you want to save calories. You can also make several small puff pastry parcels.
