Pull-apart bread

Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 750 g wheat flour
  • 450 ml water, warm
  • 1 ½ tsp salt
  • 4 tbsp oil
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1 cube of yeast, fresh
  • 500 g herb butter, soft
  • Flour for the work surface

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Rest time approx. 1 hour 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 45 minutes; Total time approx. 2 hours 25 minutes

Make a dough from all ingredients except the herb butter, cover, and let it rise for at least 45 minutes in a warm place (e.g., on a radiator, in the sun, or in an oven heated to around 50°C). Then roll it out generously on a floured surface into a square and divide it vertically. Spread each half with at least 200g of fairly soft herb butter. Cut each half into 2cm wide strips and roll these strips up. You can, of course, also make your own herb butter. Immediately place the rolls upright in a round (26cm) baking pan lined with baking paper. The rolls should be close together. Bake at 175°C (convection oven) for approx. 45 minutes. Allow to cool completely before eating. There are numerous variations of this basic recipe. For example, the dough can be flavored with various herbs. Additional fillings include fried bacon cubes, onions, or cheese strips.
