Stick bread

Spread the love

Ingredients for 15 servings:

  • 1 kg flour
  • 500 ml water, warm
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 points yeast (dry yeast)

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Rest time approx. 6 hours; Total time approx. 6 hours 15 minutes

Prepare a yeast dough from the ingredients and knead thoroughly. Let it rise in a cool place for 5 to 6 hours. Then knead again. Form small balls, skewer them on a small stick, and cook them over an open campfire. Stick bread is great for camping, potato fires, and anything that smells adventurous. Grilled sausages go well with it, of course. For a sweeter version, fill the holes with jam or applesauce after baking.
