Pumpkin Cooked with Processed Cheese in Shell
The perfect pumpkin cooked with processed cheese in shell recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.
- 1 smaller Pumpkin ???? See previous history for the variety
- 4 tablespoon Processed cheese
- 1 a cup Cream
- 1 toe Fresh garlic
- Cajun to season to taste
- Coarse salt
- Vegetable stock powder homemade or bought
- Pre-story: Our neighbor gave us some smaller pumpkins, 3 of which are very difficult to peel! The peel is like concrete and the raw pulp is also very hard! (But the taste is delicious!) To avoid blisters on my hands :-))) I cut a pumpkin in half and thought I would cook my little sauce in the pumpkin and use the bowl for the sauce! My husband was thrilled because that meant he had less work to do with washing up after dinner, grin! (He’s always on the rinser at the weekend!) So, let’s start cooking!
- Cut the pumpkin in half, remove the seeds and, if possible, cut into the pulp with a sharp, pointed knife in a diamond shape! (I thought of avocado when preparing the dishes, because they are easier to spoon out by cutting into them) So that the two pumpkin halves in the pot don’t tip over, I had my husband cut a small slice on the underside so that the parts stood.
- In a sufficiently large saucepan, fill the vegetable stock 2 fingers wide, season with Cajun and place the pumpkin halves inside.
- Pour 2 tablespoons of processed cheese into each pumpkin. Then fill up with cream and water and season some vegetable stock powder. (I put 2 knife tips of chili powder in half of my husband because he likes to eat a little hotter.)
- Cut the garlic into very fine cubes and spread on the edge of the pumpkin. Sprinkle with Cajun and some coarse salt, cover with the lid and simmer for about 25 minutes. (Check in between that there is still enough stock in the pot)
- Arrange the pumpkin half on deep plates and enjoy. (Before enjoying, the pulp should first be removed from the skin so that it can be eaten with the delicious sauce.)
- BON APPETITE !!!
