Pumpkin Mares According to Grandma’s Recipe

- 800 g Pumpkin steamed and mashed lukewarm
- 2 cube Fresh yeast
- 250 g Sugar or more if you want something sweeter
- 1 Teaspoon (level) Salt
- 1 Pc. Lemon fresh just the juice
- 1,5 kg Sifted flour
- 250 gmn Butter or margarine according to taste
- Mix the lukewarm pumpkin with the yeast, sugar, salt, butter or margarine and then let rise in a warm place for about 30 – 45 minutes. When the pumpkin and the ingredients have risen nicely, gradually knead in the flour and lemon juice (maybe you don’t need all of the flour depending on how much liquid the pumpkin has) until you have a nice, firm dough. Let rise again in a warm place for about 30 – 45 minutes. Then bake in the baking pan for about 45 – 55 minutes at 175 – 180 degrees. Makes two small or one large loaf of bread. Or lots of small rolls.
