Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 6 minutes; Total time approx. 16 minutes

very simple and a delicacy

Wash the barnacles and clean them under running water. Bring a pot of water to a boil, add sea salt, garlic, and bay leaves, and add the barnacles to the boiling water. Bring to a boil once, then remove from the heat and let stand for 5 minutes. Serve immediately. Eat with your fingers. Twist the feet 180° and pull them out, then bite off the soft part. These barnacles are only available from well-stocked fishmongers. It’s best to order them in advance. They’re ideal as an appetizer. The quantity of barnacles can be varied depending on whether you’re serving them as a main course or appetizer.
