Brussels sprouts in tonka bean cream sauce

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 500 g Brussels sprouts, fresh
  • n. B. salt water
  • 1 onion(s), red
  • 1 tbsp rapeseed oil or corn oil
  • 150 ml cream
  • n. B. Tonka bean abrasion
  • e.g. salt and pepper
  • some milk, if necessary

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 40 minutes

Clean and wash the Brussels sprouts. Peel and dice the onion. Cook the sprouts in salted water for 15-20 minutes. Drain the sprouts and discard the cooking water. Sauté the diced onion in oil. Deglaze with cream and add the tonka bean zest. Bring to a boil briefly, then season to taste. Now add the Brussels sprouts and heat through. If there’s not enough sauce, simply add a little more milk. Season to taste and serve. A delicious side dish for many dishes.
