Ingredients for 4 servings:
- 4 eggs, separated
- 1 pinch of salt
- 180 g sugar
- 1 packet of vanilla sugar
- 80 g butter
- 750 g quark (low-fat quark or 20%, but can also be mixed)
- 80 g semolina (soft wheat)
- 1 tsp, leveled baking powder
- Butter for the mold
Instructions
Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes
without baked fruit
Beat egg whites with salt until stiff peaks form. In another bowl, beat butter with sugar and vanilla sugar until fluffy, gradually whisking in egg yolks. Add quark and stir in. Mix semolina with baking powder. Also add and stir in. Finally, fold in the beaten egg whites. Pour the mixture into a buttered baking dish (approx. 20 x 30 cm). Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (top/bottom heat) (gas mark 3) for approx. 1 hour. Serve with seasonal fruit of your choice. We particularly like sour cherries from a jar.
