Quark with linseed oil

Spread the love

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 400 g quark, 40% or 20% or low-fat
  • 1 small bunch of spring onions
  • some salt
  • 6 tbsp linseed oil

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 10 minutes

so simple and so delicious

Thinly slice the spring onions, mix them into the quark, and season with salt. Then add enough linseed oil to give it a nice yellow color, about 6-10 tablespoons, depending on your taste. It’s best to let it sit in the refrigerator for a while. This goes wonderfully with fresh bread, as do jacket potatoes with herring and onions, or Häckerle (herring salad). This recipe is almost purist, and that’s precisely why I think it’s so delicious. You don’t always need to mess around with herbs and spices or spice blends.
