Burger, Quarter Pounder with Cheese
Roughly chop the onion. Form the ground beef into 4 patties. I form the patties in plastic wrap and freeze them briefly so they don’t fall apart during cooking. Fry or grill the patties unseasoned. Meanwhile, toast the cut-side up burger buns in the oven until golden brown. Mix mustard and ketchup in a 1:3 ratio. Spread this mixture on the top half of the bun, top with onions, gherkins, and a slice of cheese. Place the finished patties on top and season with salt and pepper. Place the second slice of cheese and the bottom of the bun on top, and turn over. Serve with a generous portion of fries.
