Quick applesauce puff pastry sticks with cinnamon sugar

Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 275 g puff pastry (roll from the refrigerated section)
  • 5 tbsp, heaped applesauce
  • some milk or 1 egg
  • cinnamon sugar
  • Flour for the work surface

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 25 minutes; Total time approx. 35 minutes

For tea or coffee

Remove the puff pastry from the package, remove the baking paper if present and roll it out on a floured surface with a rolling pin. Now halve the dough using a pizza peel or a sharp knife. Spread the applesauce onto one of the two halves right up to the edges. Now carefully place the second half of puff pastry on top of the first layer of puree. Then brush the dough with beaten egg or milk using a pastry brush. (Tip: I use milk for these relatively small amounts of dough so that no leftover egg is wasted.) Now mix together sugar and cinnamon to taste and sprinkle the coated surface. Finally, cut the puff pastry from left to right with the pizza peel into strips about 2 cm wide and halve these again. Now carefully loosen the individual pieces from the work surface with a knife or spatula and place them on a baking tray lined with baking paper. Bake in a preheated oven at 180 degrees Celsius (fan oven) for about 20-25 minutes until golden brown. The finished applesauce sticks taste great with tea, coffee or milk and are also great for dipping.
