Quick cheese spaetzle with broccoli

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 500 g broccoli
  • 200 g Cheddar cheese, grated
  • 125 g Parmesan, grated
  • Butter for the mold
  • 5 tbsp fried onions
  • 300 g spaetzle

Instructions

Working time approx. 25 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 35 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour

Cut the broccoli into small florets, wash, and peel the stalks. Blanch the broccoli in boiling salted water for 3-5 minutes. Drain, refresh, and let it drain in a colander. Mix the grated Cheddar and Parmesan cheese. Preheat the oven to 200°C (top/bottom heat) or 175°C (fan oven). Cook the spaetzle in a large pot in salted water according to the package instructions. Drain into a colander. Layer the broccoli, cheese mixture, fried onions, and spaetzle in a greased baking dish. Bake in the preheated oven on the middle rack for about 15 minutes.
