if unexpected visitors arrive
Who hasn’t experienced this: Visitors are coming, you forgot, or they just “pop over spontaneously,” and you haven’t prepared anything to offer. Here’s a solution that doesn’t take much longer than making coffee. First, heat the water for the tea in a kettle. Meanwhile, halve the melon and cut it into pieces about 5 cm long and 2 cm thick (without the peel!). Once the water has boiled, let the tea steep, possibly cutting the melon further while it steeps. When the tea is a nice dark red and strong (after about 2 minutes), mix it with the cherry juice and 1 tablespoon of raspberry syrup, along with some chili powder or, ideally, chili from a mill. Now to serve: First, arrange the melon pieces neatly on a plate, drizzle 1 teaspoon of raspberry syrup over two melon pieces, and pour the dressing over the melon pieces with a tablespoon of dressing, then serve. It seems very original and creative to most guests and is a nice alternative to melon with Parma ham on the buffet.
