Quick potatoes from the microwave

Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 4 small potatoes, mainly waxy

Instructions

Working time approx. 5 minutes; Rest time approx. 5 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 4 minutes; Total time approx. 14 minutes

WW-suitable, low-fat

Peel and wash the potatoes, then place them in a microwave-safe container (with a lid) while still dripping wet. Add 1 tablespoon of water. Close the container and cook the potatoes in the microwave for 4 minutes at 700 watts. After the cooking time, do not open the container or microwave; let them stand for 5 minutes in the switched-off microwave. Test for doneness; for larger potatoes, cook for an additional 1-2 minutes if necessary. Then drain off any excess water and process the potatoes further, e.g., mix with salt, butter, and herbs. This also works with unpeeled potatoes (washed, dripping wet + 1 tablespoon of water) as jacket potatoes or, for example, for potato salad. If you have more than 2 portions, I don’t think it’s worth microwaved. Each potato (50-70 g) needs to be cooked for 1 minute at 700 watts, so if you have 8 potatoes, for example, you need to cook for 8 minutes. The additional cooking time of 5 minutes remains the same. It’s a quick and easy option for 1 or 2 servings. The 170 kcal are calculated for 240 g of peeled potatoes (without any other ingredients).
