Ingredients for 1 servings:
- 1 ¼ tsp coriander
- 1 ½ tsp peppercorns, black
- 4 carnations
- 6 grains of allspice
- 1 ½ tsp cinnamon powder
- 1 tsp cumin
- 1 tsp ginger powder
- 1 ¼ tsp cayenne pepper
- 1 tsp nutmeg, grated
- ½ tsp anise

Crush all the spices in a mortar and pestle and mix thoroughly. Transfer to a screw-top jar and store in a cool, dry, and dark place. It’s used in many Moroccan dishes. Ras el Hanout is prepared differently in every household and can contain up to 100 different ingredients.
