Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 500 g flour, type 550
  • 1 cube of yeast
  • 250 g sugar
  • ¼ liter milk, lukewarm
  • 1 egg(s)
  • 100 g butter, melted
  • 125 g butter, cold
  • 125 g almonds, sliced
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • Grease for the tray

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Rest time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 1 hour 30 minutes

Put the flour in a sealable bowl and make a well in the center. Add the crumbled yeast and 1 teaspoon of sugar to the well and mix with a little lukewarm milk. Cover the bowl and place it in a basin of warm water. Let it rise for 10 minutes. Add 125g of sugar, the egg, the remaining lukewarm milk, and the melted butter to the bowl and knead everything well until the dough pulls away from the sides of the bowl. Let the dough rise in the sealed bowl in a water bath for 15 minutes. In the meantime, preheat the oven to 220°C and grease a baking tray (drip pan). Roll out the risen dough on the baking tray and prick it several times with a fork. Cut 125g of cold butter into small cubes and spread it over the dough, then sprinkle with the almonds and sprinkle with 125g of sugar. Let it rise again briefly and bake in the hot oven for 10 minutes.
