Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 150 g berries, fresh, red, here honey berries from the garden
  • 1 liter of water
  • 2 bags of tea, e.g. B. Hibiscus tea
  • 6 fresh mint leaves
  • ½ lemon(s)
  • 400 g sugar

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Rest period approx. 1 day; Cooking/baking time approx. 5 minutes; Total time approx. 1 day 25 minutes

makes approx. 1.25 liters – to mix with water or sparkling wine

Wash the fresh berries and juice them using a food mill. Boil the tea in a pot and let it steep with the mint leaves for about five minutes. Then remove the tea bags, leaving the mint in. Bring to a boil with the berry juice, the juice of half a lemon, and the sugar. Strain the syrup into a sterilized 1-liter bottle and turn it upside down to cool. Simply pour the remainder into a small bottle. Mix with water or sparkling wine, if desired. Note: The syrup will keep for about two years in the sealed bottle. Store the rest, including any opened bottle, in the refrigerator.
