Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 500 g red cabbage
  • 125 g bacon
  • 2 onions
  • 125 ml vegetable stock
  • 5 tbsp balsamic vinegar
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1 pinch(s) of pepper
  • 1 handful of almond flakes

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Rest time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 50 minutes

Trim the red cabbage and slice into thin strips. Finely chop the bacon and fry. Remove the bacon from the pan and set aside. Dice the onion and sauté in the bacon fat until translucent. Deglaze with vinegar and add the vegetable stock and seasonings. Pour the hot sauce over the red cabbage and let it simmer for 20 minutes. Stir in the bacon and slivered almonds before serving.
