Red cabbage with a kick

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 pack of red cabbage
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 125 g diced ham or bacon
  • 1 onion(s)
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 2 pinches of clove powder
  • ½ tsp, strained broth, instant
  • 2 cups mulled wine
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 2 tbsp vinegar or cucumber infusion

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 35 minutes

Sauté the ham cubes, slice the onion, and add them along with the red cabbage. Add all the other spices. Pour in the mulled wine until just covered. Finally, season with vinegar or cucumber infusion (tastier!). Simmer everything on low heat for about 20 minutes. Note: The mulled wine already contains all the necessary spices.
