Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 4 slices of pork neck
  • 1 onion(s), finely chopped
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 2 tbsp vinegar essence
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp mustard, hot
  • ½ tsp white pepper, ground.
  • ½ tsp sweet paprika powder
  • 1 pinch of chili powder
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • ¾ cup tomato ketchup
  • 1 cup water

Instructions

Working time approx. 25 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 40 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 5 minutes

Place the chops in an ovenproof dish. Fry the onion in butter in a pan until light brown. Add the brown sugar, lemon juice, and vinegar essence and bring to a boil. Pour the stock over the meat and simmer on the stovetop for 5 minutes. Whisk together all the ingredients for the sauce and add to the chops. Cover and cook in a preheated oven at 200°C for about 40 minutes. Remove the lid for the last 20 minutes. Serve with boiled potatoes.
