"Red Fruit Compote" Jam

Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 1 handful of raspberries
  • 1 handful of blackberries
  • 1 handful of currants
  • 1 handful of gooseberries
  • 1 handful of jostaberries
  • 1 handful of tayberries
  • 1 handful of strawberries
  • 1 handful of elderberries
  • 1 pack of gelling sugar 2:1, 500 g

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 4 minutes; Total time approx. 19 minutes

all the berries the garden has to offer

Weigh out 1 kg of berries, bring to a boil with the preserving sugar, simmer for four minutes while stirring constantly, and pour into prepared jars. Note: I grow many different berries in my garden. Since they don’t all ripen at the same time and come in different quantities, I always freeze some and, when I have 1 kg, make jam. The jam is the same every year, but it still tastes a little different, as the quantity of berries varies.
