Ingredients for 4 servings:
- 4 sausages (Regensburger or other short, thick meat sausages)
- 1 liter of boiling water
- 3 tbsp oil
- 1 tbsp mustard, medium hot
- 2 tbsp tomato ketchup
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- salt and pepper
Instructions
Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes
Cut star-shaped cuts into the sausages from the ends, about 2 cm deep, leaving the center intact. Pour boiling water over them and let them stand until the cut surfaces have opened up like little stars. Drain, brush with oil, and grill until crispy brown. Brush continuously with a mixture of mustard, ketchup, lemon juice, salt, and pepper.
