Ribs

The perfect ribs recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 1,5 kg Ribs
  • 250 gr Prunes
  • 2 Pc. Apples
  • 1 Pc. Sauce gingerbread
  • 50 g Smoked bacon
  • 500 ml Beef broth
  • 200 ml Red wine or sour grape juice
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Lovage
  • Oil
  • 1 tbsp Sugar or honey
  1. Wash the ribs, pat dry, rub with salt, cut the bacon into thin slices. Peel and core apples, cut into eighths.
  2. Grease the inside of a sauté pan well with oil.
  3. Starting with the bacon, layer the bacon ribs apple pieces prunes in the pan.
  4. Cook in a preheated oven at 200 ° C for approx. 60-80 minutes in a closed stew pan.
  5. Take the pan out of the oven and let it cool down briefly. Remove the ribs from the gravy and set aside. Now add the broth, finely grated sauce cake and lovage to the gravy. Top up with red wine / grape juice. Bring the whole thing to the boil, simmer for about 5 minutes. Season to taste with salt, pepper and sugar / honey.
  6. Strain the sauce through a sieve. Let the ribs soak in the sauce for about 30 minutes.
