Rice and minced meat dish

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 200 g rice
  • Salt water or vegetable broth
  • 1 onion(s), finely chopped
  • some olive oil
  • 300 g tomatoes, peeled, diced
  • some garlic salt
  • some pepper
  • some basil
  • 250 g minced meat
  • some oil
  • some salt and pepper
  • some paprika powder
  • 75 g hard cheese, grated
  • ½ cup sweet cream
  • Fat for the mold

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 1 hour 20 minutes

Cook the rice as usual in salted water or vegetable broth. Meanwhile, prepare the tomato sauce. Sauté the finely chopped onion in hot oil until translucent, add the finely chopped tomatoes (skin the tomatoes first), simmer for about 20 minutes, and season with the spices. Brown the minced meat in hot oil, add the tomato sauce, simmer for 5 minutes, and season well. Mix the minced meat and tomato sauce with the rice and pour the mixture into a greased baking dish. Sprinkle the dish with cheese, pour over the cream, and bake in a preheated oven at 180°C for about 35 minutes.
