Rice casserole with apples

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 750 ml milk
  • 200 g rice
  • 75 g sugar
  • 3 eggs, separated
  • 250 g quark
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1 packet of vanilla sugar
  • 3 apples, chopped
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • Fat for the mold

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

Add the rice to the lightly salted milk, bring to a boil briefly, and then let it swell. Be careful not to burn the rice! Allow the cooked rice to cool slightly. Preheat the oven to 200°C. Combine the sugar, chopped apples, quark, egg yolks, cinnamon, and the cooled rice. Beat the egg whites until stiff and fold into the mixture. Grease a baking dish. Pour in the rice mixture and bake in the oven for about 30-40 minutes until golden brown.
