Rice with Beans

The perfect rice with beans recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 1 Cup Rice
  • 1 Cup Peas
  • 2 cups Vegetable broth
  • 1 Can Chili beans
  • 1 Can Baked beans
  • 1 Can Kidney beans
  • 1 Onion
  • 2 Garlic cloves
  • 2 tbsp Tomato paste
  • 1 tbsp Butter
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Chili powder
  1. Peel the onion and garlic, dice finely and sauté in the butter until translucent.
  2. Stir in your rice, deglaze with the stock and let it steep in a closed saucepan for approx. 20 minutes.
  3. Now add the peas and beans, season everything with salt, pepper and chili powder, stir in tomato paste and carefully heat while stirring.
  4. Fits great as a side dish with pan-fried meat.
