Rice with Chicken: 3 Ideas to Cook at Home

Rice with chicken forms the ideal basis for a wide variety of recipes, as both ingredients can be combined in many ways. Here you will find three ideas for cooking.

Rice stir-fry with vegetables and chicken

The first recipe suggestion is with vegetables. You can customize this recipe depending on the season, as rice and chicken go well with almost any vegetable. You can also try different types of rice with this suggestion. For this recipe, start with the rice as it takes the longest time to cook. Put 125 g of rice (for two people) in a pot and boil it with twice the amount of water. Next, you need a zucchini, a pepper, a 250 g chicken breast fillet, salt, pepper, and turmeric.

  • The next step is to wash the zucchini and the peppers. Core the peppers and cut them into thin strips.
  • Halve the zucchini lengthwise and cut it into slices.
  • Wash the chicken breast fillet and pat dry. Before frying it in a pan with fat, cut small pieces from it. Fry the chicken pieces until they are lightly browned and then add the vegetables.
  • Finally, add the cooked rice to the pan and season with turmeric, salt, and pepper.

Aromatic curry rice

Rice and chicken can also be seasoned in many ways. In this recipe, a marinade is made for it. It’s best to start with the rice. You need a total of 100 g rice, two onions, some turmeric and curry, 230 ml water, a chili pepper, a clove of garlic, 3 tbsp soy sauce, 1 tsp honey, 2 tbsp sesame oil, 1 tbsp sesame seeds, 2 sprigs of coriander leaves and 30 ml broth.

  • To do this, cut up an onion and sauté it in a saucepan. Add the rice and sauté until translucent. Then season everything with turmeric and curry and cook everything in water for about 20 minutes at low heat.
  • Now prepare a marinade for the chicken. Deseed the chili pepper and chop it along with the garlic clove.
  • Mix both with soy sauce and honey. Mix the chicken breast fillet, which has been cut into small pieces, with the ingredients and let everything soak well in the fridge.
  • Now take sesame oil, sesame and an onion cut into rings and fry everything in a pan. Meanwhile, keep an eye on the rice. When it’s done, take the coriander leaves and chop them finely. Then mix the leaves into the rice.
  • Take the meat out of the marinade and fry it in the pan with the sesame seeds. Depending on your needs, you can use marinade for seasoning. Everything is deglazed with the broth. To do this, take water and some of a bouillon cube. Finally, arrange everything on a plate.

Exotic rice pan

In Asian countries, rice with chicken is sometimes refined with a fruity or sweet and sour note. In this recipe, this is achieved by adding dried apricots (20g) and apple juice (100ml). You will also need 60g rice, a clove of garlic, an onion, 250g chicken breast fillet, 2 tablespoons soy sauce, chili, salt, pepper, and coriander greens.

  • Put the rice in a saucepan with twice the amount of water and bring it to a boil. Chop the dried apricots, the clove of garlic, and the onion.
  • Cut the chicken breast fillet into small pieces and fry in oil. Add the apricots, garlic, and onion, and then deglaze with apple juice.
  • Add the cooked rice to the pan as well. Mix everything well and season with soy sauce, chili, salt, pepper, and coriander.
