Roast beef with beer

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 500 g beef
  • 1 onion(s)
  • 1 carrot(s)
  • 1 bottle of malt beer
  • 1 pack of sauce cakes (gingerbread)
  • salt and pepper
  • Sugar
  • Vinegar
  • oil

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

Season the meat with salt and pepper and sear on all sides in oil. Add the finely chopped carrot and chopped onion and sauté. Deglaze everything with beer. Braise the meat until tender, adding a little more water if necessary. Then remove the meat from the sauce, crumble the gingerbread, and simmer in the sauce. Season to taste with salt, pepper, sugar, and vinegar. Either strain the sauce through a sieve or puree it with a hand blender. Return the meat to the sauce and serve with dumplings and red cabbage.
