Ingredients for 1 servings:
- 1 turkey (11-12 kg)
- 2 tbsp butter, room temperature
- 2 stalk(s) celery, cut into large pieces
- 1 carrot(s), cut into large pieces
- 1 onion(s), quartered
- 3 garlic cloves, cut into pieces
- Salt and pepper, black
Instructions
Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 5 hours; Total time approx. 5 hours 15 minutes
Turkey in a Brown Bag
Wash the turkey, remove the giblets, and pat dry. Preheat the oven to 160°C (top/bottom heat). Place the celery, carrot, onion, and garlic cloves into the abdomen. Brush the outside of the turkey with butter, season with salt, and pepper. Place the turkey in one or two large brown paper bags and seal the bags tightly. Place the turkey in a roasting pan and place it in the oven for 4-5 hours. Then remove the turkey from the oven, remove the bag, and discard the vegetables from the abdomen. Place the turkey on a serving platter and serve.
