Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 500 g carrot(s)
  • 2 apples
  • 20 g fresh ginger
  • 1 orange(s)
  • 1 package of gelling sugar, 2:1
  • some lemon juice

Working time approx. 45 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 5 minutes; Total time approx. 50 minutes

Peel and grate the carrots, apples, and ginger. Combine the juice of one orange and one lemon with the preserving sugar, add the grated fruit and ginger, and cook for about five minutes. Blend the mixture until slightly softened and pour into screw-top jars while still hot. Depending on your taste, you can also add a little grated orange zest before cooking; this will make the jam more tangy, which many children don’t like. Be sure to use an untreated orange that has been rinsed with hot water and dried.
