Ingredients for 6 servings:
- 500 g smoked pork, whole or sliced
- 400 g sauerkraut
- 1 cup potato pancake batter, approx. 1 kg
- 1 egg(s)
- 200 ml cooking cream 15%
- 150 g bacon cubes, lean
- 1 large onion(s)
- e.g. salt and pepper
- some butter
- e.g. nutmeg
- Butter for the mold

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 1 hour 10 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 30 minutes

Preheat oven to 160°C fan/convection oven. Grease a large casserole dish with a little butter. Dice the onion and fry in a pan with the bacon cubes until translucent. Spread half of the potato pancake batter in the casserole dish. Cut the smoked pork into large cubes and place on the batter. Rinse the sauerkraut with water and squeeze it dry(!), then spread it on the smoked pork. Arrange the onion and bacon cubes on top. Mix the cream with the egg and season with salt, pepper, and nutmeg to taste. Pour this over the rest of the batter as the final layer. Place the second half of the potato pancake batter on top. Bake in the hot oven for 60 minutes.
